PIEDMONT, Oklahoma -- NOC Enid's late rally fell just short Wednesday afternoon losing to top seed Seminole 2-1 in the first round the NJCAA Region 2/South District Playoffs in Piedmont.
The Jets trailed 2-0 as the Trojans scored two runs in the third to take an early lead.
Wednesday's game stayed the same until the sixth when Zoie Zachry scored on a Seminole error to cut the lead to 2-1.
NOC had one last chance in the seventh when Brylee Brungardt-Davis led off with a double to left but was stranded at third when the game ended.
Lakelynn Thompson worked all seven innings allowing just five Seminole hits.
The Jets (11-37) face Baton Rouge (LA) Thursday at 11 a.m. Baton Rouge lost to NOC Tonkawa 3-1 on Wednesday.
