NOC lost the lead late in a 3-2 defeat to Iowa Central on Sunday. The game was tied at two with Iowa Central batting in the top of the seventh when Adwell doubled on a 1-2 count, scoring one run. The pitching was strong on both sides. Iowa Central pitchers struck out seven, while NOC sat down nine. Iowa Central knotted the game up at two in the top of the sixth inning. Cheyenne Anderson hit a solo homer. Karlee Jones toed the rubber for Iowa Central. She lasted two-thirds of an inning, allowing zero hits and zero runs while striking out one and walking zero. Lindsi Spring led things off on the rubber for the Lady Jets. She went seven innings, allowing three runs on five hits, striking out nine and walking one. Iowa Central launched two home runs on the day. Kateina Anthony went for the long ball in the fourth inning. Anderson went yard in the sixth inning. Spring, Lexi Vargas, Kamber Leforce, Courtlyn Head, and Kelsey Gammage each collected one hit to lead NOC. The Lady Jets didn't commit a single error in the field. Head had nine chances in the field, the most on the team. Anderson went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead Iowa Central in hits.
