NOC Enid built a 10 point halftime lead and held on for a 64-57 win over rival Tonkawa Tuesday at the Mabee Center.
The Jets (14-5) improved to 3-2 in league play while NOC Tonkawa (10-8) fell to 0-4 in conference.
Darian Grant and Oryne Stewart led the Jets with 16 each. Riley Shore led the Jets on the boards with eight. Faris Mucharbach had four blocks and six rebounds for the Jets.
The Jets and Mavs were tied at 40-40 with 9:55 left when the Jets went on an 8-0 run to build a 48-40 lead. After the Mavs cut the lead to 48-46, the Jets went on a 6-0 run to take a 54-46 lead. The Mavs then rallied cutting the lead to 54-52 with 3:14 left.
NOC Enid then pulled away with a 7-0 run to take a 61-52 lead and never looked back.
"I thought we tried to play hard and made just enough plays to win a big game," said coach Chris Gerber. "We didn't shoot the ball well, we made a lot of defensive mistakes and got out rebounded but was able to make enough plays when they mattered to hang on. Quick turnaround to shift our focus to another tough conference road game at Seminole."
The Jets shot 37% from the floor and 29% from 3-point range.
The Jets are at Seminole Thursday at 7:30 p.m.
