Jets lose conference opener in overtime at Eastern

WILBURTON, Okla. -- NOC Enid fell to Eastern 77-73 in overtime Monday night in Wilburton in the conference opener for 2026.

Riley Shore led the Jets with 23.

In a game that was close throughout, the Jets had an opportunity to win the game in regulation with the game tied at 67-67 but Shore's 3-pointer with :15 was off the mark.  The Jets then held Eastern on their final possession forcing overtime.

In overtime, the Jets built a 73-68 lead on a twisting layup by Dontrell Yearby but Eastern rallied scoring the final nine points to win 77-73.  

Gavin Barnard and Yearby each had 11 while Darian Grant added 10.

Shore and Grant had nine rebounds each while Gavin Barnard added three assists.  NOC shot 39% from the floor and 23% from 3-point range while Eastern shot 39% from the floor and 33% from 3-point territory.

The Jets (11-4) host Murray State on Thursday in the conference home opener at 7:30 p.m. at the Mabee Center.
