NOC Enid suffered their first loss of the season Friday, 76-75 to Allen (KS) at the Mabee Center.

KeJuan Payne led the Jets with 21 points and eight rebounds while Oryne Stewart added 14, Dontrell Yearby 12, and Grant Barnard 10.

"Definitely a tough loss," said coach Chris Gerber. "I thought they came at us but we stood our ground and battled and had chances to win. We didn't win the rebound battle and we were 11-20 at the line so we didn't deserve to win."

NOC led the Red Devils 31-28 but Allen made a run midway in the second half taking a 67-54 lead before the Jets rallied cutting a 76-69 lead to 76-75 on a Payne steal and slam with 40.3 left.

Payne missed the game tying free throw but the Jets had one last opportunity after getting a stop on Allen's final possession but Grant Barnard's final shot was off the mark.

The Jets shot 49% from the floor and 31% from 3-point range while Allen shot 49% from the field and 33% from 3-point range.

The Jets (3-1) face South Central Prep on Saturday at 2 p.m.
