The NOC Enid Women's Soccer Lady Jets open the 2025 NJCAA D1 Central Plains District Soccer Tournament on Thursday, Oct. 30, against Murray State at 5:30 p.m.

NOC Enid is the #2 Seed from the North Division and Murray State is the #3 Seed from the South Division.  The tournament is at the Advance Soccer Complex in Enid.

"We are very excited for the NJCAA Region 2 tournament to begin," said coach Joe Jolly.  "We have worked hard this season to attain the #2 seed in the North. We are entering the tournament feeling confident in our ability to perform but know that we need to be our best to go far in this tournament.  Home field advantage is great. Having the tournament here is something we are very happy about. The facilities at the advance sports complex are top notch."

"This team has been a very fun team to coach," Jolly said.  "This being my first season at NOC it has been great to see all of the players buy into a new system and new coach. The team did well last year, but our goal was to improve upon that. This year's team has done that, improving from five losses in conference to only two this year. The largest improvement has been made on the defensive side of the ball only conceding nine goals this season as compared to 27 from the previous season."

The Lady Jets (7-3-5, 6-2-4 in conference) won at Murray State 2-1 on Oct. 5.  Murray State (5-6-1) is 5-5-1 in conference play.

"Murray is a good test for the first round of the tournament," Jolly said.  "We were pleased to get the win against them earlier in the year, but every game is different."

"The biggest key for us is to continue to play our brand of soccer,he added.  "We have focused on ourselves throughout this season, and no reason to change things up now."

Defense has been a key factor as the Lady Jets have allowed just nine goals this year.

"Alex Price has been fantastic in goal this year. She has been a key member of the group since day one. Without her some of the close games could have definitely turned negative. I don't know if there is any secret to her success this year. She has put in the work preseason and throughout the year to have the success she's had this season, no substitute for hard work when it comes to being an effective goalkeeper."

The Lady Jets hope to continue their defensive style in the post season.

"The team's style is one of intense defensive focus and creativity in the attack," Jolly said.  "Our goal is to be the most organized team on the defensive side of the ball. When on the attack the players are encouraged to be creative and use their strengths to the best of their abilities."

Matisse Ames leads the teams with five goals while Haley Solis has four, Marcela Lozano has three and Marisa Chavez, two.

"Matisse, Marcela, and Marisa have been very impactful this year. Along with freshman Haley Solis with four goals on the season as a freshman has been a big help."

Playing well late in the year is always a key

"I believe we are playing our best soccer, we finished the back half of conference play undefeated with four wins and two ties, while only conceding two goals over the six game stretch. We are looking to carry that into the tournament sticking to what has gotten us here."
