The NOC Lady Jets travel to McPherson Friday, Oct. 31 for the season opener.

NOC Enid is under the tutelage of second year coach Michael Dominguez.

"I would say that we are definitely more experienced right now than where we were last year," Dominguez said.  "A lot of that is due to having so many sophomores on the team as opposed to last season. We have played six scrimmage games at this point, so it feels like we got all the nervousness and jitters out."

The Lady Jets were 9-21 last year but return a number of key pieces from 2024-25.  They include sophomores Lyndee Mikesell, Kenley Lemons, Ruby Laight, Savannah King, and Noel Crabtree (redshirted last season).

King and Mikesell both averaged 13 points per game last season.  Mikesell averaged eight rebounds per game while King added six.

Dominguez believes those returnees are a strength.

"I would say that our experience is one of our biggest strengths," he said.  "The girls have played at high levels prior to this year, so we have been able to use that experience to our benefit so far. Hopefully that can continue to be a benefit to us throughout the season."

Projected starters are Lemons, King, Mikesell, JaNai Coleman, and Laeticia Hardy to start the season.

Dominguez added the Lady Jets are getting closer to the style he wants to play.

"We are taking a big step forward in terms of getting to the playing style that I want to play. I think once we get back some players who are injured, we will be much closer to what I envisioned for our team," he added.
