SHAWNEE, Okla. -- NOC Enid dropped a heartbreaker to Eastern 3-2 in 9 innings Wednesday in the South Central District Softball Tournament in Shawnee.
The Jets (21-33) face Rose State (30-20) Thursday at 11 a.m. in an elimination game.
NOC Enid jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first inning when Ally Neal scored on a double by Brylee Brungardt-Davis and then Brungardt-Davis scored on a passed ball giving NOC Enid a 2-0 lead.
Eastern scored single runs in the 4th and 5th to tie the game at 2-2.
Both teams had chances in the late innings but Eastern pushed across the go-ahead run in the 9th to win 3-2.
KK Harjo was the tough luck loser allowing two earned runs on 10 hits. She struck out six.
Brunghardt-Davis had three hits while Morgan Hayes added a single and double for the Jets.
