The NOC Enid Jets fell short of the NJCAA Division 2 World Series, losing the best of three series to South Mountain (AZ) in the NJCAA West District Tournaemnt in Enid.
The Jets (42-23) lost Game 2 to South Mountain 7-4 after losing Game 1 on Thursday, 12-3.
NOC trailed 3-0 until the 6th when the Jake Ervin singled home Bryan Williams and the Jets trailed 3-1.
After South Mountain answered to build the lead to 4-1, the Jets rallied for two runs in the 7th as a Connor Cavnar singled scored Brock Boddie and the Jets had cut the lead to 4-2.
Lucas Dunn then scored on a wild pitch and the Jets had cut the lead to 4-3.
South Mountain then added three runs in the 8th to build the lead back to 7-3.
The Jets countered with a single run in the 9th as Cavnar doubled home Boddie but that would be the final, 7-4.
Jonathan Silva (6-1), Catcher Lindley, Jackson Papenfus, and Wyatt Rutledge worked for the Jets allowing seven earned runs.
Bryan Williams and Lucas Dunn had three hits each while Brock Boddie and Cade Cavnar had two hits each. Each team had 11 hits.
