Jets sweep SE Nebraska in season opener

The NOC Jets hit four home runs in a sweep of Southeast Nebraska Thursday in the college baseball season opener.

NOC won the opener 7-2 and the nightcap 7-4.

Clayton Peterson hit a pair of home runs in the opener while Ed Calvert had two home runs and D.J. Calvert one in the second game.

In the opener, Wesley O'Neill had three hits and two rbi's while Peterson, Tyler Wood and EJ Taylor had two hits each.  NOC scored four runs in the 4th to build a 6-1 lead.

Kyler Patterson pitched into the 5th inning, striking out six allowing three earned runs.  Lawson Isaacs recorded the final four outs to earn the save.

In Game 2, the Jets hit Southeast Nebraska with a five run 3rd inning and cruised to a 7-2 win.

EJ Taylor had two home runs and four rbi's while DJ Calvert added a solo shot for the Jets.

Cooper Harris pitched five innings allowing two runs on four hits in picking up the win on the mound.  Brody Shook pitched the final two innings.
